Celebrating the Essentials of Christmas
When children think of Christmas they probably think about Santa Claus, reindeer and lots of presents! In the midst of celebrating the holiday spirit, let's help our children remember the true reason for the season. Here are a few local events that Columbia4Kids.com recommends:
A Christmas Carol

Christmas Concert Lexington Village Square Theater Cost: $5.00 on December 5 at 7pm.
The Singing Christmas Tree Dec. 11-15 Presented by Shandon Baptist Church, the Singing Christmas Tree is a holiday tradition. The gospel music is sung by a 140-member choir who act as ornaments in a 35-foot Christmas tree. Dance, lighting, and special effects add to the excitement of this holiday classic. Tickets are $7.00.
The Arts At Shandon Concert Series Dec. 22 at 4pm. Come to a Christmas concert. "Renaissance Christmas," 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 22 at Shandon Presbyterian Church, 607 Woodrow St. Concert will features the Chancel Choir and the Shandon Players. Call (803) 771-4408 for more information.

Harmon's Tree Farm
A special thanks to Harmon's Tree Farm in Lexington who allowed us to come out and take Christmas pictures for a November feature in Columbia Metropolitan Magazine in the heat of August!
Harmon's is a must-add to your holiday traditions. Plan now to take an afternoon with the kids and go out to Harmon's to ride the hayride and cut your own tree! The kids will enjoy the playground and parents can do some shopping at the fabulous Christmas House. Go once and you'll want to go every season!
