Caring4Kids - Helping to Raise Awareness of Child Abuse Prevention Month
Help Support Palmetto Place Children's Shelter
April is Child Abuse Awareness and Prevention month. To help spread the word, Columbia4Kids is hosting FunFest 2003 which will help us to raise funds for Palmetto Place Children's Emergency Shelter.
The FunFest will bring together many local family entertainment businesses in one place for fun, games, and education. Admission is FREE and game and ride tickets will be $.50 each. Bring the kids out for an afternoon of fun and help us to support kids in need.
What can we do at the FunFest?
- Bounce in a moonwalk
- Slide on an inflatable slide
- Ride a pony
- See a magic show
- Get your face painted
- Play carnival games
- Eat great food
- Find out more about some great local businesses
Where is the FunFest?
The Columbia4Kids FunFest 2003 will be held in the Irmo Village Shopping center in the grassy area between the center and Future Kids Childcare Center. We thank Carolina Wings for allowing us to use this area for our first ever festival.
To get there, take I-26 to Lake Murray Blvd (exit 102A). Drive in towards Irmo. Just past the railroad tracks, make a right turn on to St. Andrews Rd. Irmo Village shopping center will be 2 blocks up on the left. Just look for the giant sign!
From Lexington, take 6 over the dam. Take a left on to St. Andrews Rd and go down about 2 blocks.
When is it?
The Columbia4Kids FunFest 2003 will be help on Sunday, April 6 from 1:00PM to 5:00PM. In the event of bad weather, the event will be rescheduled for the following Sunday, April 13 at the same time.
How can I help?
We are so glad you asked! If you volunteer to work a 3 hour shift, you will receive a free Columbia4Kids T-Shirt and an unlimited play armband for your child! Shifts available are:
Setup: Sunday 12:00PM-3:15PM
Teardown: Sunday 2:45PM-6:00PM
If you would like to earn an extra armband (for your other child!) and are available the week before the event to help organize, let us know where your skills lie and what your availability will be that week.
