Columbia4Kids Newsletter

Issue 011 | January 2005

This edition of the newsletter will introduce you to our new staff writers.

We are thrilled at the response we received to our request for original articles, and we now have 5 new authors contributing to the newsletter. So enough chit-chat, let's get on to the good stuff!

Roly Poly Sandwiches

A Great alternative to fast food!.  Cheryl Goss of the Puppet Playhouse reviews the Roly Poly Sandwiches restaurants. Come on, aren't you sick of Happy Meals? Kids eat for $1-$2.25.

Read the full Roly Poly Restaurant review.

Getting Organized- Best Books

If you're like me, one of my resolutions for the new year was to GET ORGANIZED! But I need some inspiration.

Denise Altman of All the Best gives us her picks for the best books to get the clutter under control.

Read the full Organizational Books Review article.

January 2005 Adoptible Pets of the Month

Grady the dog and Cloe the cat will melt your heart. If you're ready for a pet, take a look at our adoptible pets of the month. Pet's Inc has many pets available to loving homes.

Winter Pet Care

Brr... it's finally gotten cold! Are your pets ready for the freezing temps?

Kimberly Cotten of Wags to Whiskers Pet Sitting Services gives us some great tips on Winter Pet Care. Consider donating your old blankets and towels to a local pet shelter!

Shark Tale

Shark Tale is showing at St. Andrew's for $1.50. If you haven't seen it, now's a great time! Get those kids out of the house and go see a lot of movie for a small price. We give it 4 stars!

Consignment Tagging Service

I LOVE consignment sales, and the spring sales are just around the corner. As much as I depend on the sales to outfit my kids, I've stopped consigning their old clothes because it is just too much of a hassle.

Enter Belles & Beaus VIC tagging service! They do all the tedious work so you don't have to. Check out the details on the forum.

Wrap Up

You missed the December newsletter, but it wasn't your fault at all, since it never got mailed out! You can view the C4K December Newsletter here if you are interested. I tell you, the holidays get busier every year. Technical issues kept me from sending it out (and have delayed this one) but you can expect regular deliveries from here on out.

The forum is really growing into a fun hangout for parents! We continue to gain new members. If you haven't posted yet, come on by and say hi! We'd love to get to know you.

The next newsletter isn't too far off- expect to get your next edition before Valentine's day. We'll continue to grow and improve and bring you the kind of information you want about the Columbia SC area- be sure to let us know if you have any suggestions.

See ya next month! - Scottie.
