Fall Fun

It's my favorite time of the year! The weather has finally cooled off a little, and the smell of fall is in the air. There's so much to do and see in Columbia in autumn, you need to plan ahead to hit your favorite events. Don't let it all pass you by!

Be sure to hit the Columbia Events Page to plan your fall fun because there are just too many things going on to be able to list them all here.

Enjoy the beautiful weather! -Scottie Claiborne, Columbia4Kids Editor.

Start a Tradition Your Kids Will Always Remember

Some of my most vivid memories as a child are carving pumpkins with my brothers and sisters and baking Christmas cookies. Those stand out as fun, happy memories I'll remember for a lifetime.

Sometimes I wonder if I'm giving enough of those moments to my own kids! What will they remember in 20-30 years? I need to make sure there are plenty of memories to choose from.

That's why Marcia's article on creating holiday traditions is so timely! She's got great tips to make sure everyone has fun.

Wrap Up

The school year brings a little peace and quiet around my house, but also germs! The colds just get passed from kid to kid. We've been stocking up on vitamin C, washing hands and squirting anti-bacerial gel on everyone! Hopefully, we'll get all our germs out of the way before too much longer.

I don't know if you've been yet, but we are headed to the State Fair tonight! Forget the diet, I'm getting some of those little doughnuts that float along and cook as you watch them, then get smothered in cinnamon sugar. Makes me hungry just thinking about it! Only 3 days left for the fair, so if you don't go this weekend, you'll miss it.

If your church or school is having an event that everyone is invited to attend, please be sure to add it to our event listings. We want to cover as many Columbia area events as we can, so families can get out there and do more together.

Thanks for being a part of the C4K community. We love the feedback we get from our members so if you have a comment or suggestion, feel free to email us!

See ya next time! -Scottie
