Granby was an important river trading market (established 50 years before Columbia in 1733) on the Congaree River. With the eventual growth of Columbia as the capital, Granby gradually declined as a community.
The Granby Gardens Park and Granby Botanical Gardens are in the same complex, offering a stream, picnic tables, and a playground. Bring a picnic lunch and spend the day!
